AARON BYRD NAMED NEW MOTOR CITY FC HEAD COACH

BERKLEY, Mich. - Motor City Football Club (MCFC), a Michigan’s premier women’s soccer team, has named Aaron Byrd a new Head Coach for the 2016 season.

Byrd served as assistant to former Head Coach Skip Mukhtar and will take over the top coach’s position following Mukhtar’s departure.

With Aaron’s guidance, the Motor City Football Club finished the 2015 Women’s Premier Soccer League (WPSL) season with record of nine wins and one loss, dominating the WPSL Midwest – Great Lakes Region and earning a spot in the MPSL Regional Playoffs.

“We thank Skip for his contributions in bringing success to the club, and we are ecstatic to have Aaron Byrd as the new MCFC head coach,” said Shereef Akeel, President, Dearborn Sports Enterprise, the organization that owns the Motor City Football Club . “Aaron will continue to bring wealth of information regarding the sport of soccer. The Women's Premier Soccer League is an independent highly competitive national league whose main focus is on the development of highly competitive premier women's soccer teams.

The WPSL was formed in 1998. We are sanctioned by the United States Adult Soccer Association (USASA), who is an affiliate of the United States Soccer Federation (USSF), the ruling body of soccer in the United States and FIFA the world's ruling body for soccer.
