SAN DIEGO, CA (June 7, 2010) – SD United wins their home opener against LAFC Chelsea. 6 minutes into the game Mariette Boyce started the ball movement up the field finding its way to Stephanie Ochs with a perfect cross to Leticia Villalpando who popped the ball into the net - United leads 1-0.  Boyce lead the defense in keeping the box clear while Goalkeeper Sophia Perez was in top form as she tipped and dove for the ball time and time again.  Chelsea snuck one in the back of the net in the 64^th minute of play tying up the game.  United came back in the 71^st minute of play with D Ross blasting the ball from the back line to the feet of Ochs who had yet another beauty of a cross this time to Beth Lloyd's finish to the back of the net making the final score 2-1.
